We are happy to announce Heart Music will be distributing the amazing Makai Ukuleles in the Benelux.

The designs for Makai Ukuleles are based on Hawaii island tradition. You can almost hear the ocean breeze in the palm trees when you play a Makai Ukulele! In fact the word “Makai” means “near the sea”!

Starting with the beginner models all the way up to the beautiful All Solid Koa MKU-24D model you’ll find an attention to detail that other ukuleles lack. These are real instruments made by accomplished ukulele luthiers who understand that instrument making is an art as well as a craft!

At the Messe we very happy to have made an agreement with Asturias Guitars. From now on, Heart Music Distribution will be the official distributor of these exeptional Japanese handcrafted guitars. ASTURIAS GUITAR MANUFACTURING LTD. is a workshop of handcraft guitars with the highest reputation in quality of its products. Production quantity has been limited in small numbers always since it started in 1962.

Years of natural drying and seasoning of tonewood is the most important factor of their guitar making. All woods are settled for at least 3years, and especially for sound boards,neck, and fingerboards, more time is spent in order to avoid problems of change of climate in different countries. After long seasoning years, all materials are cut and kept in the humidity controlled room for 6 months before going into construction stage.

At the finishing stage,all instruments are inspected and adjusted by the master luthier Wataru Tsuji, one of the most famous guitar builders in Japan.

Smoothness of bone surface, sharp cutting edge of each wooden parts, thin and flat varnish, and the most important factor, sound, is going to be checked by Tsuji finishing team.
